015: 10 Days Best Of Kenya
Start
with a drive through central Kenya traversing the Kikuyu countryside
to the lower slopes of Mount
Kenya, staying overnight at
Serena Mountain Lodge, the
tree hotel standing on the slopes of the snowcapped mountain for
overnight floodlot game viewing. The proceed further north across
the equator to the rugged landscapes of Samburu
National Reserve, home to rarely found
species for a 2 night stay, before heading down to Sweetwaters
Game Reserve, a private reserve withs
lots of wildlife including a Chimpanzee sanctuary.
Then proceed down to the floor of the Great Rift Valley to - Lake
Nakuru National Park. Your last three
nights will be at Maasai Mara Game
Reserve, where you will have the best
opportunity of spotting the Big Five lion, leopard,
buffalo, rhino and elephant.

Day
1: Nairobi/Mountain Lodge
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through
Kikuyu countryside to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya arriving
Serena Mountain Lodge (tree
hotel) in time for lunch. Relax in the afternoon as you watch game
from the balcony of the lodge, with an optional guided nature/forest
walk. Overnight floodlit game viewing. Dinner and overnight at the
tree hotel.

Day
2: Samburu
Depart after breakfast and drive further north across
the equator to Samburu National Reserve
arriving Samburu Lodge
in time lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and
overnight at the lodge.

3: Samburu
Full day in
Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu
is a beautiful and and game abundant park, home to rarely found species
such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and
reticulated giraffe. Optional activites include a visit to a local Samburu
village, camel riding and guided nature and bird walks. All meals and
overnight at Samburu
Lodge.

Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive back
to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya - arriving Sweetwaters
Tented Camp in time for lunch.
Afternoon game drive in the private sanctuary (Sweetwaters Game
Reserve), including a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only
one of its kind in Kenya. You will also visit Morani the tame rhino
and the Visitors Information Centre.
Return to
Sweetwaters Tented Camp for dinner and overnight (with an optional
night game drives).

Day
5: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast drive down to the floor of
the Rift Valley - to Lake Nakuru National Park, making a brief stop
at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive Sarova
Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch,
followed by an afternoon game drive in the park.
Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx
400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species
of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild's
giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo,
leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day
6: Naivasha
Another morning game drive in Nakuru, then
depart for Naivasha, arring Lake Naivasha
Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon boat ride on Lake
Naivasha and a walking safari at Crescent Island, one of the few
places in the world where one can wander on foot amidst wild animals
- there are no predators.
Return to Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day
7: Maasai Mara
Depart after breakfast and drive further along
the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara, arriving Sarova
Mara Tented Camp in time for lunch.
Afternoon game drive as you get a feel of this vast game filled
reserve. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Approx Transit time: 5 hrs

Day
8 & 9: Maasai Mara
Spend two days in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most
popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity
of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant).
On one day you will go out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most
of the day in the park coming back to the lodge late afternoon,
while on the second day you will have an early morning pre-breakfast
game drive, and another one late afternoon.
There will also be an optional visit to a local Maasai village.
All meals and overnight at Sarova Mara
Tented Camp.

Day
10: Back to Nairobi/Out
Depart Maasai Mara after breakfast, driving
back to Nairobi to arrive approx 1300hrs. Drop at your hotel or
transfer to the airport for onward flight home. End of our services.
